Our
speaker will be Don Parker:
Don
represented
England
at Table Tennis over 200 times. Following university he was appointed
National Coach by the English Table Tennis Association and worked within
the Governing Body for 18 years in a variety of performance related
positions. In 1995 Don took up the position of Deputy Technical Director
at the British Olympic Association and in 1997 joined the Commonwealth
Games Council for
England
were he currently acts as the Sports Director. In these various capacities
he has attended 4 Olympic Games, 3 Commonwealth Games and numerous other
major events.
Don is
married to Jill a former European Table Tennis Champion, daughter Katy
represented
England
at the 2002 Commonwealth Games and son Adam is the club professional at
Leyland Cricket Club in the Northern League. Despite advancing years and
waistline Don still tries to play competitive soccer and cricket albeit to
a humble standard.
