Rules

·         The President’s Pairs is a handicap KO event

·         Matches consist of four singles games and one doubles

·         The handicap system is the same as for the Bower Trophy (team KO), ie one game up to 42 points, change ends at 21

·         Where a player has a minus handicap it is changed to a + number and added to 42 to find the length of the game (eg a -8 v. -3 will play to 50)

·         Each pair has a doubles handicap, shown in the draw chart

·         The order of play is 1v1, 2v2, 1v2, 2v1, doubles

·         The winner of each game gets one point and tied games are awarded half a point each

·         In the event of a drawn match, the team scoring the most overall points goes through

·         The pair named first in the each first round match is at home – venues for subsequent rounds are shown in the draw chart

·         The venue of the final is to be decided on the toss of a coin between opposing captains.

·         Results should be sent to Andy Seed by post or email within 3 days of each match (mark the card PAIRS please):

Andy Seed, Ash Tree Rise, Amotherby, Malton, N. Yorks YO17 6TG

tel 01653 696704

email: andy@cannybooks.com

·         It is the responsibility of each pair to arrange their next match as soon as possible after a result (within 2 weeks please).
