The 2010 President's Pairs Competition The
President’s Pairs is a knockout handicap competition for teams of two
and is open to any registered RTTL player who has played 3 or more league
matches before 1.1.10. Ties consist of four singles and one doubles match,
using the same handicaps and scoring system as the Bower Trophy Team
Knockout (see Dec 09 newsletter or website for details). This is a fun competition, giving players a chance to team up with someone from another team or club, perhaps, and involves a much shorter evening out than league matches. It would be good to get at least 16 pairs this year but the competition will not go ahead if there are fewer than 8 entries. The closing date for entries is 28th Feb – please make sure your entry is posted before then. A
PDF copy of the draw and rules can be downloaded here. Draw (results highlighted) Preliminary matches: 1. Alan Kirkwood 14 and Paul Morse 6 (10) v Andy Seed -12 and John Stokes -2 (-7) 2. John Freeman -14 and Stephen Temple -8 (-11) v Janet Bailey 20 and Linda Clarke 28 (24)
