Did you know that we have a Regional Development Officer for Table Tennis in Yorkshire, funded by ETTA? Well we do! His name is Mark Willerton and it's his job to help organisations like our league who are promoting local table tennis.
What does he do?
Below is a summary of what an RDO does:
PremierClub
Aims
The aim of the ETTA Development department is to initiate, support and advise on the development of Table Tennis at all levels and to provide an infrastructure for the sport to grow and strengthen.
Structure
The department has a complement of National and Regional staff The staff role is to implement the policies and programmes of the Association detailed in the ETTA development plan and rolled out into individual work programmes.
Priorities
The
current priority of the department is to develop a strong club structure
in

Improving facilities

Supporting volunteers
· Setting up competitions (Junior leagues, Ladders, draw sheets, group and match sheets)

Skills Awards
· Equity including Disabled Table Tennis and Premier Club Ability, Women and Girls, working with Ethnic Minority Groups and working with areas of social deprivation

Table Tennis in schools
· Promotion and publicity (posters and leaflets)
· Lobbying (stating the case for investment in Table Tennis)

Funding
