RTTL
2010 Summer League
The
Summer League is a competition for teams of two and is open to all RTTL
players. Teams do not have to represent specific RTTL clubs. All matches will once more take place at
the same venue.
- All
matches played at Ryedale Sports Club, Pickering, starting 7pm
- Matches
take place each Wednesday and Thursday night for 7 weeks from April 14th
(two matches on each night)
- Teams
of two, plus reserves
- Matches
consist of 5 sets (4 singles and a doubles)
- Sets
are best of 7 games (one
point is awarded for each set won)
- Teams
play each other just once: seven matches per team in total
- Matches
cannot be postponed: teams not turning up concede the match 5-0 (teams
are therefore strongly advised to find at least one reserve)
This
is a chance to keep up your table tennis practice and also team up with
someone from another team or club, perhaps. It also involves a much
shorter evening out than winter league matches.

Apologies if there are any mistakes in these tables (please let me
know ASAP) - unfortunately, the results charts on the wall at Ryedale
Sports Club were not filled in correctly by a lot of people and so this
made them hard to decipher. It also added a lot of extra work for the
match sec so please next time read what it says!

Ryedale Table Tennis Summer League 2008
All
matches in the 2008 season were played at Ryedale Sports Club,
Thornton Road
,
Pickering
, on either Monday or Wednesday nights.
Postponements were not allowed.
Sets were the best of seven games; teams were of two players
playing five sets (four singles and a doubles).
The teams played each other only once.
The competition winners were in doubt until the final week of the
season when champions Ryedale Laundry beat the previously unbeaten
Helmsley 4-1 to secure top position. Ryedale
Laundry were the leaders throughout the season, having won their first 3
matches 5-0, but both Helmsley and Swinton remained in close pursuit until
the end. The averages winner
was Paul Young of Ryedale Laundry, despite losing his 100% average in his
final set when he was beaten by Helmsley’s James Mayne. [20.6.08]
